Learn more about Amy in our Q&A:

What inspired you to pursue your chosen major?

AW: The creativity and problem solving within software engineering inspired me to choose it as my major. Ever since I was little, I have loved creating things, and I think software engineering allows me to continue doing that.

What do you like to do for fun?

AW: I love to play sports, specifically soccer. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, and spending time with loved ones. I also enjoy trying new activities and different types of food.

What do you like most about working at Parametric Studio?

AW: I really like the product that is being developed and who it is being developed for. I think it’s really cool to be a part of something that is inventive and has the goal of getting kids excited about STEM.

What would you like to see change or improve in STEM education?

AW: I would like to see more girls interested in STEM. I think Parametric Studio is helping to make this change through the technology and kits they are developing. I think something important to consider will be how to keep girls interested from a young age throughout high school so that when they go onto college they are interested in pursuing a STEM-related major.

Where do you see STEM education in the next 10 years?

AW: I think technology will continue to be a bigger and bigger part of education. Using technology to enable learning to be more interactive is one thing I think we will see a lot of. I also think programming skills will continue to become a bigger part in students' education from a younger age.
